Security and privacy
Cashfield reads. It never moves money.
Cashfield is paid for by its subscription and nothing else, so your information is never the product. Here is how it is handled.
Connecting your bank
Cashfield connects to banks through Plaid, which banks and thousands of apps use for exactly this.
Your password stays at your bank
You sign in on your bank's own page through Plaid. Cashfield never receives your username or password, so it never stores them.
Read-only access
Cashfield can read balances and transactions. It can't move money, make a payment or change anything at your bank.
Only the last four digits
An account is known by its kind and the last four digits of its number. Cashfield never keeps a full account number.
Remove a bank at any time
Remove bank cancels its access at Plaid first, then permanently deletes what it brought in.
How your information is kept
Encrypted at rest
The keys that let Cashfield read your bank are encrypted before they are stored, and they never leave the server, not even to the app on your phone.
Walled off by the database
Each person's records are kept apart by the database itself, so one person's request can only ever reach their own rows.
Crash reports carry nothing about you
When the app fails, the report holds where it failed, never an amount, a shop, an account or your name.
What Cashfield does not do
No ads, no data sales
There is no advertising in Cashfield and no advertising code in the app. Your data is never sold or shared for marketing.
No tracking across apps
Cashfield doesn't use your phone's advertising identifier and doesn't follow you across other apps or websites.
Usage analytics only if you say so
Share usage analytics is off until you turn it on, and even then it never includes an amount, a shop, an account or a question you asked.
AI, only with your permission
Ask uses OpenAI to put answers into words. Nothing is sent until you agree, in the app, and you can change your mind in Profile.
Cashfield works out every figure itself. The AI is given the figures and only writes the sentence around them.
What is sent is what answers the question: amounts, dates, shop names, and a bank's name and last four digits.
Never your bank login, a full account number, your name or your email address.
Yours to take, or to delete
Download everything
Profile › Privacy & data › Your data › Download everything gives you one file: your transactions with their categories, your accounts, banks and recurring payments, your profile and your Ask conversations.
Delete your account
Delete your account removes your banks' access first, then deletes everything. It can also be done from the subscription screen, without a subscription.
Unused accounts don't linger
An account nobody has used for two years, with no subscription, is deleted.
Cashfield is not a bank and holds no money. Bank connections are provided by Plaid. The details are in the Privacy Policy (en français) and the Terms of Service. Privacy questions: info@ovesyantechinc.com.
