Getting started

When can I get Cashfield?

Cashfield is coming to iPhone through the App Store and to Android through Google Play. This site will link to both as soon as it is there.

Do I have to set up a budget?

No. Cashfield sorts your transactions and shows where your money went without budgets or rules. If a category is wrong, fix it once and Cashfield files that shop the same way from then on.

I used Mint. Will Cashfield feel familiar?

Mint closed in 2024. Cashfield does the automatic part Mint was known for, without ads, and adds subscriptions found from your own transactions and answers to questions about your money.

Which languages does it speak?

English, with US or Canadian spelling, French and Spanish. Choose in Profile, under Preferences. The Privacy Policy and Terms are in English and French.

Banks and security

Is it safe to connect my bank?

Cashfield connects through Plaid, which banks and thousands of apps use for exactly this. You sign in on your bank's own page, Cashfield never sees your password, and the access is read-only: it can't move money or make payments.

Which banks and cards work?

Thousands of banks and credit cards in the US and Canada, through Plaid. Connect yours during the free trial to check before you pay.

What if my bank asks me to sign in again?

Banks ask for this from time to time. Cashfield shows Reconnect beside that bank; sign in again and it carries on. Nothing already imported is lost.

Can I share it with a partner, or add a business account?

Not yet. Each account is for one person, and Cashfield connects personal accounts only. Business accounts are planned.

How Cashfield counts

Does paying my credit card count as spending?

No. The purchases on the card were counted when you made them, so paying the card off is money moving between your own accounts, not new spending. Cashfield finds those payments from both ends and counts them once.

How does Cashfield find my subscriptions?

It looks for charges at the same shop that repeat on a rhythm, such as monthly, every three months or yearly, at a steady price. It shows what they cost a month and when to expect the next one. If it missed one, add it from a charge you already have.

What if a category is wrong?

Choose the right one on the transaction. Cashfield can file every charge at that shop the same way from then on, or change just that one.

Can I add cash or other transactions?

Yes. Add money out, money in, a refund or a transfer by hand, and it counts like any other transaction.

Does it mix US and Canadian dollars?

No. Each currency keeps its own totals, so nothing is added together at a made-up rate. The currency you choose is shown first, and you can switch to the other.

Privacy and AI

Does Cashfield sell my data or show ads?

No. There are no ads, your data is never sold, and usage analytics stay off unless you turn them on.

How does Ask use AI?

Nothing is sent to the AI provider, OpenAI, until you allow it. Cashfield calculates every figure itself from your transactions; the AI only writes the sentence around them, and it never sees your bank login.

Can I download or delete my data?

Yes, from inside the app. Profile › Privacy & data › Your data downloads what Cashfield holds about you, and Delete your account removes it all, after cancelling your banks' access first.

Pricing and your account

How much does it cost?

US$9.99 a month in the US and CA$12.99 in Canada, after a 7-day free trial. You subscribe and cancel through the App Store or Google Play.

What happens to my data if I cancel?

You keep access until the end of the period you paid for. When the subscription ends, Cashfield removes your bank connections and the transactions they brought in after a 48-hour grace period. You can download everything first, and delete your account at any time.
