Something not working, or a question we haven't answered here? Write to us.
- Write from the email address shown at the top of Profile in Cashfield (the one you sign in with), so we can find your account. If you signed in with Apple and chose to hide your email, that is an address ending in privaterelay.appleid.com.
- Tell us whether you use an iPhone or an Android phone, and what you were doing when the problem happened.
- Never send us your bank password, a full card or account number, or a code your bank sent you. We will never ask for them.

Connecting a bank
Cashfield needs a Personal subscription or its free trial. Without one, Cashfield opens on its subscription screen, and that screen is the whole app until you have one. It carries Start free trial (or Subscribe, once a free trial has been used), Restore purchases, Download your data and Delete your account.
- In Cashfield, tap Connect a bank. If you already have one, go to Profile and tap Connect a bank under Banks.
- Read What your bank will share, then tap Continue to my bank.
- Find your bank and sign in on its own page. That page is handled by Plaid, a company banks use for exactly this, and Cashfield never sees your password.
Every account you have at that bank comes in together. Some banks send your history straight away and some take a while, and your transactions appear on their own - there is nothing else to do. Cashfield asks for up to two years of history; how much of it comes through is up to your bank.
Your bank may not say whether an account is personal or business. Cashfield then asks Which of these accounts are personal? and you choose an answer for each account. Cashfield is for personal accounts only, so an account you mark as business is not added, and changing that later means connecting the bank again from the start. Business accounts can't be connected yet at any bank.
When a bank asks you to sign in again
Banks ask you to sign in again from time to time - after you change your online banking password, for example, or simply every so often. How often is up to the bank, and some ask more often than others. When it happens, Cashfield shows Reconnect needed with the bank's name on whichever screen you are on, and marks the bank the same way under Banks in Profile.
Tap Reconnect and sign in on your bank's page again. That repairs the connection you already have: nothing already imported is lost, and your bank is not added a second time. Until you reconnect, updates from that bank are paused, and everything it has already sent stays in Cashfield.
Please don't remove the bank and add it again to fix this. Remove bank permanently deletes that bank's accounts and every transaction Cashfield imported from it.
If a bank shows Temporarily unavailable instead, the bank isn't responding right now. There is nothing for you to do: what it has already sent is still there, and updates carry on once the bank responds again.
If your bank isn't listed
The search for your bank happens on Plaid's connection service, and not every bank is supported yet. Try the bank's full name as well as its short one, and for a store-branded credit card, the name of the bank that issues it.
If it still isn't there, Cashfield can't connect it for now. You can still record that spending yourself with Add transaction in Transactions, and it counts in your totals like everything else. Tell us which bank it was at info@ovesyantechinc.com - we can't add a bank ourselves, but it tells us which ones people need.
Left on a "Return to the Cashfield app" page
Some banks sign you in through their own website or app, then hand you back to Cashfield. If you end up on a web page that says Return to the Cashfield app to continue connecting your bank, open Cashfield yourself. If the connection didn't finish, start it again with Connect a bank.
Cancelling or changing your subscription
Cashfield Personal is sold through the App Store and Google Play, and Apple or Google takes the payment. So you cancel or change it in your Apple or Google account rather than in Cashfield. In the app, Profile → Subscription → Manage subscription takes you straight there.
On an iPhone
- Open the Settings app and tap your name.
- Tap Subscriptions.
- Tap Cashfield.
- Tap Cancel Subscription. You might need to scroll down to find it.
If there is no Cancel Subscription button, the subscription is already cancelled. Apple's own instructions: Cancel a subscription from Apple.
On an Android phone
- Open the Google Play Store app.
- Tap your profile picture, then Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
- Tap Cashfield.
- Tap Cancel subscription and follow the instructions.
You can also do it in a browser at play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions. Google's own instructions: Cancel, pause, or change a subscription on Google Play.
Worth knowing
- Cancel at least 24 hours before your free trial or your current month ends, or you will be charged for the next month.
- Cancelling stops the next charge. You keep Personal until the end of the month you have already paid for.
- Deleting the app, or deleting your Cashfield account, does not cancel the subscription. Only cancelling it with Apple or Google does.
- A subscription bought through the App Store is managed in your Apple account, and one bought through Google Play in your Google account, whichever phone you use now.
- When a free trial or subscription ends without renewing, Cashfield opens on its subscription screen until you subscribe again, and removes your connected banks and everything imported from them. Your Cashfield account and the transactions you added yourself stay, and that screen still lets you download your data or delete your account.
- To change the card you pay with, update the payment method in your Apple account or Google Play settings. Personal is the only plan for now.
- Subscribed, but Cashfield doesn't show it? Tap Restore purchases on the subscription screen. Cashfield opens on it when it finds no plan, and it is also at Profile → Subscription.
Refunds
Apple and Google take the payment for Cashfield, and Cashfield never sees your card details, so you ask them for a refund and they decide under their own refund policies. If you don't want to be charged again, make sure the subscription is cancelled as well.
Bought through the App Store
- Go to reportaproblem.apple.com and sign in with your Apple account.
- Tap I'd like to, then choose Request a refund.
- Choose the reason, then Next.
- Choose the Cashfield subscription, then Submit.
Apple usually updates you within 24 to 48 hours. Apple's own instructions: Request a refund for apps or content that you bought from Apple.
Bought through Google Play
- Go to play.google.com and select your profile picture.
- Choose Payments & subscriptions, then Budget & order history.
- Find the Cashfield charge and choose Report a problem.
- Say that you want a refund, and submit the form.
Google's own instructions: Request a refund on Google Play. If it has been more than 48 hours since the charge, Google asks you to contact the developer instead: write to info@ovesyantechinc.com from the email address on your Cashfield account, with the Google Play order number (it starts with GPA), and we will look at your request.
Downloading your data
In Cashfield, go to Profile → Privacy & data → Your data and tap Download everything. Your phone then offers to save or send the file.
Without a subscription, Cashfield opens on its subscription screen instead. Tap Download your data there, then Download everything.
It is one .zip file: your transactions with their categories, your accounts, your banks and your recurring payments as spreadsheet (CSV) files, and your profile and your Ask conversations as JSON files. Cashfield keeps no copy of it. It never contains a bank password, because Cashfield never has one.
Deleting your account and data
In Cashfield, go to Profile → Privacy & data → Your data and tap Delete your account. Without a subscription, Delete your account is on the subscription screen Cashfield opens on instead. You will be asked to confirm and to sign in again. Cashfield then disconnects every bank, removes your sign-in and permanently deletes your records. It cannot be undone, so download your data first if you want a copy.
No longer have the app? Deleting your Cashfield account explains how to ask us to do it instead, and exactly what is deleted.
Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription bought through the App Store or Google Play. Cancel it there too, or the store keeps charging you.
To remove one bank and keep your account, go to Profile, tap the bank under Banks, then tap Remove bank. That permanently deletes that bank's accounts and every transaction Cashfield imported from it.
Privacy questions
- Cashfield never sees your bank password: you sign in on your bank's own page.
- Cashfield can read your accounts and nothing more. It can never move money or make a payment.
- Your information is never sold, and Cashfield shows no ads.
- Share usage analytics is off unless you turn it on, in Profile → Privacy & data.
- Ask sends OpenAI what it needs to answer only after you allow it, and you can turn that off with Answers from OpenAI in the same place.
The Privacy Policy covers what is collected, who it is shared with and how long it is kept. For anything else, including a request about the information we hold about you, write to info@ovesyantechinc.com. It reaches the person responsible for privacy at Ovesyan Tech Inc.
